I've done this several times and it's so much fun. I've also planted them in the dirt once.Great money saving trick.
I saw this tip on Food Network too, and I love it! I discovered that when you change the water you really need to rinse your bulbs off though or they get mucky. (I have hard water - dunno if that makes a difference.)Also, I found you via Frugal Creativity, and I'm so glad I did! This blog is SO up my alley.
This is such a great idea! I am going to try it ;-)
Thanks Olga, Brassy Mom & Tzel!I have the original black thumb, so this has been a thrilling discovery! And yep - I got this tip from the Next Food Network Star and am astounded it's not more well-known.And yep, the water can get a little slimy - good idea to rinse and replace every so often. Thanks so much for reading/commenting!
I never knew you could do this - so brilliant! I am going to try this with my next green onions, thanks so much for the tip
